Scouts Only

The classic Pinewood Derby experience following official BSA guidelines.

Requirements

  • Official BSA kit chassis must be used
  • Official size dimensions must be maintained
  • 5.0 oz maximum weight
  • All four wheels must touch the track
  • Gravity-powered only — no propulsion allowed
  • Creativity is encouraged in design and decoration!

Anything goes in this high-octane bracket — bring your wildest builds!

  • Non-explosive propellant systems allowed
  • Rockets, CO2 cartridges, compressed air
  • Rubber bands and springs
  • Modified wheels permitted
  • Custom chassis designs welcome
  • Must fit on the track
Safety Note: All powered entries will be reviewed for safety before racing. No explosive or incendiary devices. Race officials reserve the right to disqualify any entry deemed unsafe.
